CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION
HLTAID009Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
This course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform the essential lifesaving technique of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Learning Objectives
Recognising an emergency situation
Identifying, assessing and minimising immediate hazards
Seeking assistance from emergency response services
DRSABCD action plan
Respond to signs of an unconscious casualty
Perform CPR in line with ARC guidelines
Infection control
Demonstrate the use of AED
Provide an accurate verbal report of the incident
Course Prerequisites
Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance. There are no course prerequisites for apply first aid course.
Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions.
Course Format
The face to face training is 2.5 hours and covers both theory and practical aspects of CPR Training. Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement or may be refused entry.

On successful completion of the course participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the nationally accredited course -Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation HLTAID009.
Certificates are emailed following each course.
The CPR certificate is valid for 12 months. Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills are refreshed annually.
Once enrolled, Provide First Aid Gold Coast will email students a CPR course booking confirmation with venue details, maps, course requirements and terms of enrolment.
