This course provides appropriate training for staff who establish, maintain and manage first aid health and safety in the workplace as well as the skills to provide an emergency first aid response in the event of an emergency.
The comprehensive course training comprises of pre-course learning and practical training plus face-to-face training hours within the scope of learning each of the below courses:
HLTAID011 Provide first aid
This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills in providing first aid and basic life support until arrival of medical assistance. This includes calling for help, the ability to respond to first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision making and basic life support functions including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This course covers adult and child conditions.
HLTAID014 Provide advanced first aid
Healthcorp’s HLTAID014 Provide advanced first aid is part of the fully accredited first aid training that gives you the knowledge, skills and confidence to respond in an emergency situation. Advanced first aid training provides the necessary skills required to confidently coordinate, manage and instruct other first aiders across a range of complex situations – as well as within community and workplace environments. The course comprises pre-course learning and practical training plus face-to-face training hours.
HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation
Healthcorp’s HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation course provides the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. The course applies to workers who may be required to use specialised equipment to provide resuscitation in a range of complex situations, include community and workplace settings.
HLTAID016 Manage first aid services and resources
Healthcorp’s HLTAID016 Manage first aid services and resources should be undertaken by all persons or employees whom are responsible for the management of first aid in the workplace. The course is structured to teach the participants how to establish and maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in the workplace.

Course Prerequisites
There are no pre- requisites for this course. Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.
Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate, CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions.
Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.
Course Format
The face to face training is 2-3 days and covers both theory and practical aspects of the HLTAID014 Provide advanced first aid, HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and HLTAID016 Manage first aid services and resources.
There is a short multiple-choice quiz at the end of the training covering the course theory learnt that day. Students will also be assessed on practical skills as a requirement to pass the course. Once completed, all students will receive a First Aid manual, first aid training pack, Advanced resuscitation manual and pocket mask. Also, a First aid Code of Practice manual will be supplied to all students.

On successful completion of the course participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the nationally accredited course – Occupational First Aid Skill Set HLTSS00068.
Certificates are emailed following each course.
The certificate is valid for three (3) years from the completion date. The Code of Practice and Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills are refreshed annually.
Once enrolled, Provide First Aid Gold Coast will email students a CPR course booking confirmation with venue details, maps, course requirements and terms of enrolment.
